GEODIS accelerates Americas growth strategy with key leadership appointment
GEODIS, a global transport and logistics leader, has appointed Laura Ritchey as President & CEO of its Americas region, signalling a strategic focus on expanding its contract logistics, freight forwarding, and transportation capabilities across North and South America. This leadership change aims to drive significant growth in a critical global market for the company.
The Americas represent a top market in GEODIS’s global network, and the company views this region as pivotal for its continued expansion. Marie-Christine Lombard, chairman of the executive board and GEODIS CEO, stated, “With the U.S. being one of the top markets in our global network, Laura has the robust industry and leadership experience needed to continue strengthening GEODIS’ position in this critical region.” This underscores GEODIS’s intent to reinforce its market presence and capitalise on regional opportunities.
Ritchey’s expertise to drive expansion
Laura Ritchey brings over 30 years of experience to GEODIS, including 15 years in supply chain management across both retail and third-party logistics. Her background spans finance, supply chain operations, sourcing, distribution, and strategic transformation. Prior to joining GEODIS, Ritchey served as CEO at Radial, Inc., an e-commerce fulfilment solutions provider, where she delivered revenue growth and profitability through operational excellence.
Ritchey will also serve as a member of the Group’s Executive Board. Her appointment positions her to oversee the management and growth of the region’s multiple business units across eight countries, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil, leading a team of nearly 20,000.
“Laura’s unique knowledge of the logistics industry, including deep expertise in retail and e-commerce, and business acumen, makes her the right leader to further the region’s incredible growth and help navigate in the face of today’s complex and ever-changing landscape,” Lombard added.
Ritchey’s expertise is expected to be instrumental in navigating the complex and evolving market landscape of the Americas.
Leadership transition
Laura Ritchey succeeds Mike Honious, who is retiring from the supply chain industry after 30 years, 20 of which were with GEODIS. Honious will remain in an advisory capacity to Marie-Christine Lombard to assist with the transition and will continue his director roles with the GEODIS Foundation and GEODIS Compassion Fund.
